Yarn Cartel is a yarn subscription box by UK indie dyer Countess Ablaze who has a wealth of experience of textile dyeing, e-commerce, bricks and mortar retail, and running a successful subscription box The Classics Society which provided yarn boxes to hundreds of satisfied customers from 2016 - 2018.
Running bi-monthly with six boxes in a year, each box contains 1 or 2 skeins of lace, fingering or DK yarn, all from Countess Ablaze's lineup of yarn bases. Each box has a historical theme and comes with a specially written broadsheet newspaper, You'll also receive a gift, access to an exclusive Facebook group for Yarn Mules, and early access to shop updates at Countess Ablaze. The box (not as fancy as The Classics Society box due to the nature of Yarn Cartel being more subversive) is produced from recycled cardboard, printed with plant ink and from a British company committed to limited usage of plastic.
Boxes are priced by the number of skeins included. UK and EU boxes have VAT included. VAT is not applicable to countries outside of the EU. Shipping is included in the box price. Please note that discount codes issued for the main Countess Ablaze website cannot be used here on Yarn Cartel.
Sign up and choose a size, your location and whether you want to pay bi- monthly or prepay for a block of months. Paying monthly will give you flexibility. The monthly subscription is renewed automatically every month until you cancel. You have complete control of your account where you can see when your renewal date is. For 4, 6 and 12 month subscriptions, you pay in advance and your subscription will automatically renew after this time unless you decide to cancel. If you cancel your account during this time, you'll still receive the boxes that you have committed to. The deadline to amend or cancel subscriptions is the 30th of the month and orders in process cannot be cancelled or amended. Simply log into your account at www.yarncartel.com to amend your account.
When you pay, you are paying in advance so when you pay in December, the box will be sent January 25th at the latest. This lead time allows us to dye and order what we need and to not build up an overstock of costing materials which is uneconomical to a small business.
If your box has not arrived after 15 working days (if you are a UK buyer) and 25 working days (if you are an international buyer), please get in touch. We post out by the 25th of each month. Royal Mail does not consider post to be lost until after this period of time. Please check with your local Post Office / depot / neighbours to see if your box is waiting there, as sometimes delivery carriers can forget to leave a note if there is nobody at the address to receive the parcel. If your order has been returned to Countess Ablaze Ltd, we shall contact you to let you know. As the buyer, you are responsible for any customs charges that your order may incur. We do not falsify Customs declarations so don't bother asking!
